Remove the screws securing the back panel with the same nut driver and lay the panel on one side. Locate the small thermal cutout fuse and the safety thermostat attached to the lower left side of the right-hand heater cover on the back of the machine.
The upper component is the thermal fuse and the lower component, situated above the small oblong ceramic heating element connector, is the safety thermostat. Pull the spade connector of the lower jumper wire, leading from the left-hand heating element connector to the safety thermostat, off its terminal. Repeat by pulling off the upper wire leading from the thermostat to the wiring harness. Undo the two hex head screws securing the faulty thermostat and discard the component.
Insert the replacement thermostat and secure it with the two screws. Reconnect both the wiring harness and the jumper wire by pushing the spade connectors onto their respective terminals. Reposition the back panel and secure it with the screws removed earlier. Reconnect the exhaust duct and tighten the retaining clamp securely.
